Selection
In Russia, the Golden Miracle variety was developed by the Poisk selection agricultural firm. This happened in the 2000s. Until 2007, measures were taken to improve the properties of the plant and its adaptation to growing in a cool climate. After assigning the final characteristics to the variety, it was officially included in the State Register.
Ripening dates and productivity
The plant belongs to the mid-season variety. The time from planting in the ground until the fruit ripens is from 100 to 125 days.
Having grown to the final size, the fruit is poured from green to bright yellow in 6-13 days.
The yield of pepper corresponds to the average level. From one bush per season, you can collect from 15 to 20 fruits. With 1 sq. m to 4-5 kg.
Description of the bush and fruits
The bush grows medium in size. In open ground up to 50-65 cm, in greenhouse conditions up to 70 cm. The volume of vegetation is compact - the plant does not take up much space and saves space.
Characteristics of the bush:
- The form is drooping, which is typical for this species.
- The root system of the fibrous type is powerful and strong.
- Branching is medium with a fragile structure of shoots. Under the weight of ripened fruit or inaccurate handling, it can break.
- It has an average foliage. The sheet size is wide with a pointed end. The color is dark green.
- The ovary of the future flower is formed in the amount of 2 pieces on one branch. The shape of the flower is cupped with small petals around the yellow middle.
Pepper refers to the self-fertile type, most flowers have a female type.
The ripened fruit has the following characteristics:
- Large size: up to 13-14 cm long, up to 7-8 cm wide.
- Mass - 200-250 g.
- The shape is cubic and slightly elongated. Fetal fractions are highlighted and have clear edges.
- Inside, it is divided into sections filled with a small amount of seeds.
- The wall of pepper is thick, dense and fleshy. It is from 7 to 10 mm.
- The surface is smooth with a glossy sheen.
Ripe pepper has a rich bright yellow color.
Taste Features
The fruit tastes sweet with a pleasant pronounced aroma. The pulp is fleshy and juicy.
It is used fresh for the preparation of salads. Add to the main dishes in boiled and fried form. Preserve, freeze, and also dry.
Pepper is a record holder for vitamin C. It is several times more than in lemon and currant.
Growing Features
The Golden Miracle variety is grown from seeds. You need to start germinating in March at home. In a couple of months, seedlings will grow and get stronger. Will be ready for transplanting into open ground or a greenhouse.
For the southern regions, seeds can immediately be planted in the ground in late March or early April. First, in the greenhouse, and then transplanted to an open area.
Seed handling
Seeds for planting are taken from the previous harvest or purchased in a specialized store. When sealed, they are already treated with disinfectants and growth stimulants. And they do not require additional soaking. If the seeds were taken from their own site, then they need processing.
This variety is characterized by a long time before germination. The period is up to three weeks.
For seed treatment, you need the following:
- prepare a solution: dissolve 3% manganese in warm water from 28 to 30 ° C;
- place the seeds in it for 40-50 minutes;
- remove those that have surfaced;
- put the rest in a growth stimulator for a while, according to the instructions.
After the process is complete, remove and place the seeds on wet gauze. Wait for the green sprout to appear. Moisten gauze periodically to prevent it from drying out.
Growing seedlings
Growing seedlings has several stages. Consider them below.
1 Planting sprouted seeds
For this, small containers are used: peat, coconut or plastic glasses and small oblong-shaped boxes.
Soil for seedlings is purchased ready-made or prepared independently. To create it, you need to mix sand, peat and humus from leaves in equal parts.
The composition can be purchased ready-made or prepared independently. But you must definitely disinfect the earth. To do this, it is placed in the oven and calcined at a temperature of 90-100 ° C.
Before planting, the treated soil is poured into the tank. A depression of 1-1.5 cm is made in the soil. 1 germinated seed is placed in it. If an oblong box is used for planting, then the distance between the seeds should be 5-6 cm.
The container is closed with cling film, which is not opened until emergence. They are placed in a dark place. Once a day, the film is pushed back for oxygen. Check the moisture content of the soil and, if necessary, spray from the spray gun.

2 Emergence of seedlings
It is necessary to observe the conditions for the full growth of pepper:
- Place the container at room temperature.
- Lighting should be plentiful, more than 12 hours a day. The best place on the windowsill, preferably on the south side. If there is a lack of light, make artificial lighting using special lamps to illuminate seedlings.
- It is necessary to monitor the soil moisture: do not allow it to dry out or excess moisture. The optimum regime of soil and air humidity is 50-60%.
3 pick
It is produced when two leaves appear. Larger capacity is selected. The transplant is done carefully so as not to damage the fragile sprout.
After a pick, you can feed the seedlings. Need to fertilize twice:
- Immediately after the transplant. To do this, use ash, which is dissolved in water and watered at the rate of 40 ml per 1 tank. You can also use ready-made dressing.
- 3 weeks after the first feeding. Urea or ammonium nitrate should be diluted in the proportion: 40 g per 10 liters. Each sprout will be fertilized with 50-60 ml of solution.
The seedlings are watered with settled water at room temperature, preferably from a spray bottle.
4Hardening
3-4 weeks before planting seedlings in a permanent place, it needs to be hardened. In the future, the plant will have strong immunity: resist diseases and not freeze during small cold snap.
The hardening process is sequential:
- first you need to gradually reduce the temperature to street temperature;
- if the plant feels well, take it out in the morning to open air. Increase the time from 30 minutes to several hours;
- in the last 1-2 days, the seedlings should be quiet outdoors all the time.
Do not worry if, during hardening, the leaves sometimes wilt a little. They will quickly recover indoors.
Landing rules
2 months after the start of seedlings, the seedlings should grow to 15 cm and have a few leaves.
Landing time is May for the southern regions and early June for the northern. There should be no threat of night frost. For good survival of seedlings, the soil should warm up to + 12-15 ° C, and the surrounding temperature should not fall below +19 ° C.
Landing site requirements:
- In the previous year, potatoes and solanaceous crops were not supposed to grow. After them, the soil can be infected with pathogens and fungal spores. Best predecessors: cucumbers, cabbage and legumes.
- The site should have good lighting and protection against drafts.
- Suitable soil is sandy and loose, fertilized from autumn.
Soil requirement:
- Dig the ground in spring, get rid of weeds.
- Treat with copper sulfate for disinfection.
- Fertilize: superphosphate at the rate of 200 g per 1 sq. Km. m or organic fertilizer in the form of compost or humus.
Seedlings are planted in rows in rows together with an earthen lump according to the following scheme:
- the distance between the rows of 0.5 m;
- between bushes 0.3-0.35 m;
- dig a hole with a depth of 0.25 m.
Landing time is best spent in the evening, after sunset.
The day before planting, the plant in the tank is abundantly watered.
Bell Pepper Care
Culture does not require special care. However, it is worth observing the basic rules.
Watering and feeding
Water for irrigation is used without pre-heating. Irrigate in the morning or evening hours. Every 2-3 days.
Pour directly under the root, a watering can with a long tip is convenient for this. Each bush requires 2-2.5 liters of water. As pepper grows, watering is reduced to 1-2 times a week.
In the summer months, the plant requires more moisture. The frequency of irrigation increases, while the amount of water required is reduced.
A plant needs nutrients for proper growth. For this, feeding is periodically made:
- 2-3 weeks after planting: urea per 10 g per 1 liter;
- before flower formation: potassium sulfate or superphosphate - 30 g per 1 liter;
- before fruit ovary: watering and spraying with ash - 50 g per 1 liter;
- during the ripening of peppers: diluted packaging of 10 liter yeast.
Periodically, you can fertilize the bush with a prepared solution of fresh nettle leaves, infused for two days.
Stepson and garter
When the plant grows up and fruits begin to form on it, it can bend and break under their weight.
To prevent this, use wooden or metal pegs. They are driven into the ground at a distance of 10-15 cm from the bush simultaneously with the planting of a seedling. As needed, the bush is tied to a peg with a cloth tape.
Pasynkovka obligatory procedure. It is carried out periodically throughout the entire growing season. Extra lateral shoots are trimmed with sharp garden shears so that the fruits do not lack nutrients and the bush is not obscured.
Weeding and cultivation
Periodically it is worth getting rid of weed grass. At the time of weeding, you need to inspect the plant for pests.
After each watering, the soil needs to be loosened around the plant so that a crust does not form that impedes the access of oxygen.
Disease and Pest Prevention
The variety is resistant to major diseases and pests. If infection has occurred, then the bush and soil are treated with ready-made means: Bordeaux liquid, cuproxate and copper chloride.
In order to prevent infection, you must follow the rules of care. As preventive measures, you can use the following:
- dig the soil to a depth of 20-30 cm in late autumn, so that the cold destroys most of the fungal and bacterial infections;
- try to use the right amount of water during watering. Increased humidity is a favorable environment for the development of microorganisms;
Also, do not plant pepper for two consecutive years in the same place.
Harvesting, storage and transportation
Harvested gradually, as the fruit ripens. Harvest time begins in late July and lasts until the first autumn frosts.
If by the time of ripening it is much colder, then the unripe fruits can be picked up and taken to a warm room. In it, they ripen and acquire a saturated color. The amount of nutrients, vitamins and minerals will be in line with the norm.
Pepper, subject to storage conditions in a cool temperature and in a dark room, remains unchanged for up to 3-4 weeks. It tolerates transportation without loss of presentation, which must be carried out immediately after harvest.
Advantages and disadvantages of the variety
The choice of this variety for growing on a personal plot is due to the following positive aspects:
- quick adaptability to climatic conditions in the place of growth;
- low maintenance;
- long fruiting period;
- persistent immunity to the main types of diseases;
- high germination of seeds;
- large, juicy and aromatic fruits;
- versatility in use in cooking.
The variety has almost no drawbacks:
- fragility and breaking of the stem under the weight of ripening fruits;
- exactingness to humidity.
